The brush always comes out of the top

Smudge sweeps the old-fashioned way. The brush and rods go right up the flue and out of the pot, so you can step outside and see for yourself that the whole chimney has been done.

On one Christmas job in Barnsole Road, Gillingham, the brush met a stubborn blockage. After plenty of pushing and pulling it finally popped out of the top, with a rather naughty elf clinging to it. The children of the house loved it, and the story made Kent Online.

It is a fair picture of how Smudge works: a proper job, a bit of cheer, and a room left cleaner than he found it.
